Montego Bay Grand Beach Resort & Spa

I’m getting ready to depart from SSJ in a hour. I have to say that the services are top notch at this hotel. The staff is amazing. I only have one complaint and that’s the bathroom toilet area. There are no handicap rails for the toilet and it sits really low to the floor. I’m a cancer patient with lymphedema and found it very hard to get up from the sitting position. Other than that the resort is beautiful. I will recommend and most likely be back again!

Little Sprouts

Stayed here at Secrets St James Preffered from Nov 10th 2024 - Nov 17th 2024, 10/10 best vacation ever!!! Absolute luxury we were treated like a King and Queen here. From the moment we touched down at the resort check in was quick and smooth, Chris Brown assisted with the bags and got them to the room asap. We stayed at the ocean view swim out room and it was amazing.

Our butlers Chase and Dane went above and beyond to make our trip memorable, anything we needed, all it took was one text and these guys delivered. We put in a special request for a floating breakfast, Chase and Dane made it happen for us. The butlers here overall provided top notch service even some of the other butlers TJ and Darwin although they were not our butlers they were very helpful. Chase and Dane would check up on us every now and then if they didnt hear from us to make sure we were doing ok.

The food was amazing at every single restaurant and even the buffet was delicious with endless options. We had no issues getting into the restaurants since Chase and Dane made reservations for us ahead of time. The service at these restaurants was great, everyone was very welcoming way better service than here in Canada. The barefoot grill was one of the goto lunch spots, real authentic jerk chicken and delicious oven fired pizza’s, shoutout to the main lady at the barefoot grill she hooked me up with double jerk chicken daily and eating them at the beach was a vibe. Plenty of bars located throughout the resort getting a drink was no issue, bartender Curtis at the St James lobby bar was great.

The overall resort was gorgeous, beach was really nice and sandy, turquoise blue clear water not too busy at all, you can get a spot easily and enjoy the ocean. The resort was very clean, hats off to Rasta and his team for keeping the resort clean and maintained, you do not see any garbage laying around anywhere, the garbage cans were never full, trees and lawns were perfectly trimmed, these guys worked hard and maintained the resort all day everyday.

The gym here was nice 24/7 bit small but all the basic equipment is available to hit all muscle groups. Treadmills, bench press, barbell, leg press machines, bunch of machines and cables with different attachments are available.

Lastly, I want to touch up on the strike issue, more than half the guests were very rude/demanding to the staff here due to them striking however it is not the staffs fault, they go above and beyond everyday to make sure everyone here has a great time and at the end of the day the staff deserves what they are worth. Guests were very needy, I noticed guests here could not go 30 minutes without a beer and they would not even tip a single dollar to these workers. During the strike our butler Chase stepped in, displayed great leadership and made sure everyone was taken care off. Dinner was no issue Chase assisted with getting food delivered to me within 30 minutes.

In conclusion this was hands down the best vacation I’ve ever had, best resort I’ve been to and I cannot wait to come back to link up with my guys Chase, Dane and the rest of the team.

My wife and I have been to several resorts in different locations and Secrets Montego Bay is the best in terms of service. The rooms and food quality are outstanding with beautiful blue water and a great beach located close to everything. The people who work there are unbelievably nice and go out of their way to help with anything you want. We literally stayed at Secrets through the hurricane with little to no disruptions other than the day of the hurricane. Pool bar is great and they always have something good going on at night. We certainly will be returning to this resort again for our next trip!
